Monday 3rd November 2008, 3:57pmSource: Big Edge Poker BlogMain Event Final Table PredictionsI know that a lot of people were very critical of ESPN and Harrah's when they changed the format of the This year's WSOP final table. I felt like there was not enough hype and promotion for the final table, but I have to admit that I like the changes that they made. I can't deny that I have been tuning in every Tuesday night to watch the new episodes. Maybe they should change a few things still, but the idea of postponing the final table for a few months has really made things interesting. This might just be because in past years I already knew who the champion was by the time that ESPN aired the main event. Maybe it's because I spend a lot of time online so I've been introduced to some of these final table players pretty well. In either case, I hope they keep the same format for the WSOP next year. Here are some of my predictions for this year's final table. Dennis Phillips and David "Chino" Rheem will be among the last 3 players at the final table. I can't say much of the other player's, but I have a feeling that both of these guys will make it to the end. Eventually, Chino will try to bluff Phillips 1 too many times and he'll get caught in a big pot. Dennis seems to have a little bit of old school in him, so he's not just going to keep getting pushed around by the young gun...but he also has enough patience to wait before he takes a big stand. It's possible Chino will just hand all of his chips right over to Dennis when he's holding the nuts. Call me crazy, but I'm also predicting that this final table will be filled with poorly written one-liners for Norman Chad and half-assed segues for Lon Mcheron. I am also predicting that we will hear at least one more bad joke about Norman Chad's ex-wife, and if we are lucky, the guy that writes all of these jokes will finally get fired. |
